The Four Distinctions
By Michael S. Clouse
Awareness, Yet, Wealth, and Making Decisions
Below you will find four powerful principles (what I call distinctions) that once understood - and then applied - will forever change the way you build your business, and perhaps even your life!
Please make sure you share these distinctions on with everyone on your team!
1) Awareness
Awareness is the beginning of change. And you can only change what you are willing to acknowledge. One more essential reason you need to be actively involved in your own personal development program!
2) Yet
If we were to measure your internal dialog (that mental conversation, or self-talk, you have constantly going on inside your head), we would probably find that you speak to yourself at the rate of approximately 12,000 words per hour - all day long. And sadly, most of that "internal dialog" is not always positive...
So what's the best way to turn a potential self-sabotaging phrase like, "This isn't working!" into a positive one? By adding the word, "yet" to the end of all those less than encouraging thoughts.
"This isn't working!" becomes "This isn't working, yet!"
"I'm not making enough money!" becomes "I'm not making enough money, yet!"
"The business isn't growing fast enough!" becomes "The business isn't growing fast enough, yet!"
Therefore, the next time you catch yourself slipping into negative self-talk, try adding the word, "yet!" to the end of all those sentences. Then, over time, begin stating (or focusing on) what you actually want to occur.
3) Wealth
People can handle money in direct proportion to their prosperity consciousness.
Question: Why do most lottery winners lose their millions in such a short period of time? Answer: Because the money came first.
Question: Why do business people who lose everything (Walt Disney went bankrupt several times before building Disneyland) seem to get it all back so quickly? Answer: Because the prosperity consciousness came first.
Remember, when it comes to acquiring, and then keeping your money - your prosperity consciousness must come first! Therefore, if money is an issue in your life, read and apply the secrets contained in, The Richest Man In Babylon.
4) Making Decisions
There are two different ways people make decisions: 1) the successful way, and 2) the unsuccessful way...
The successful way to make a decision is to 1) get the facts, 2) make your decision, as soon as you have that information - based on that information - and then 3) stay the course - continue until you achieve your desired end result.
The unsuccessful way to make a decision is to 1) make your decision without getting the facts, 2) to base your decision on the information you think you know, and then 3) to wonder for some time to come if your decision was right.
Therefore, if you want to make better decisions, follow these four steps:
1) Get the facts. You don't need to know everything; however you should be able to answer these questions 1) Does it feel right? 2) Is it good for people? 3) Is it good for my family and me?
2) Make your decision as soon as all the necessary information has been presented (because there will never be a better time to decide than when the facts are clearly in your mind) by asking yourself this question: "Would the person I want to become do this?"
3) Stay the course... Successful people make decisions quickly, and then change them slowly - if ever. Unsuccessful people make decisions slowly, changing them quickly, and often. Remember that!
4) Focus on your desired outcome. If you’re going to second-guess the decision, do it before you make the decision, not afterwards. And then once the decision has been made, only focus on what you truly want.
All the best,
